Random Thoughts

I realized that I have been blogging a lot lately even though I don't really have the time but it gives me a break and time to think about things.

Today I had the opportunity to hear from Julie B. Beck, which was an amazing experience. I went in to that conference with a lot of questions on my mind, some were answered and some weren't. But she helped me realize what I needed to do to receive those answers. After the conference I headed up to the Vision Seminar training. I don't think I have mentioned this before, but I will be teaching the Vision Seminars here at BYU-Idaho starting this next week. I'm way excited to teach new freshman and return missionaries about the Spirit of this campus and how to resist the spirit of entitlement and develop the spirit of ricks while they are here to prepare and become disciples and leaders. Even though it is just one more thing to add to my list of things I am doing this semester, it will be a great opportunity for me to stretch and grow.

To re-cap of what my semester looks like and what I am involved with, here it is: I am taking 14 credits, on a volley ball, bowling, and wally ball intramural team, service activities coordinator, doing the lazyman ironman for this month, a supervisor over 4 secretaries at work and now working with one of the IT directors even more closely (about 20+ hours a week), a blood drive volunteer, the third Sunday Relief Society teacher, and trying to stay sane through all of this while having a social life. I don't know how I am doing all of this and some days I just want to give up, but each of these opportunities are shaping who I am as a person. I'm grateful for the opportunities that BYU-Idaho has to offer. I just need to learn to take it a step at a time and not all at once.

Another random thing that happened to me today was while I was at Wal-Mart. I was walking back to the school supplies area with my sister and went past the isle where they have little kids stuff and something caught my eye...it was silly putty! Since it was only $2 for two of them I decided to buy it. I think it is my new favorite thing to play with or use while I am studying. I have been really stressed lately and have had a lot of my mind as I am trying to figure things out and also stay on top of my school work while juggling everything else, this silly putty is kind of like a stress ball for me. I am able to clinch as hard as I want and I wont hurt it. What a great way to relieve stress.

As I was sitting in the car today playing with my new found love, the silly putty that was just purchased, and waiting for my roommates who had run into the store I heard this song on the radio and really liked it as I feel like I can relate. Hope you enjoy it too, I love Sugarland!
