Peace like a river

Last week I got the opportunity to do a week long service project out in the Teton Mountains with some other students at BYU-Idaho. The name of this week of service is known as Project Inspire. I love that title! As I was out in nature all week doing hard labor and making new friends and serving the forest rangers it was very inspiring for me and hopefully for those around me too. I didn’t get any answers to life’s undaunting questions, but I felt His peace. Later I found out that that week’s devotional by President Clark was called “Peace Like a River.” I just recently read it and loved what he had to say so I am attaching the link in case anyone else wanted to read it too: http://www.byui.edu/Presentations/Transcripts/Devotionals/2011_07_28_Clark.htm

I was talking to a friend of mine recently who had just graduated and how surreal it is for him that he is done with school. It has been a life goal of mine to graduate from college and now that it is almost here I almost don’t know what to do anymore. I thought at this point in my life I would have more things figured out and I would be at a different point in life, but apparently this is where I am suppose to be. I have one more semester left and I have no clue what I will be doing once I graduate or where I will be. President Clark’s words gave me a little bit of peace, that if I am obedient and doing the Lords work the channels of peace will enter into my life and the Lord will direct me. I just need to make sure that my fear does not get in the way of that faith. I’m grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that has taught me so much and has given me comfort. Life is funny sometimes and He is the only one who understands it and slowly I am starting to recieve some of that understanding.
